William R. Hammer

William “Bill” R. Hammer, 70, of Evergreen Park, passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothea Hammer, and his in-laws, Jim and Lois LaJeunesse. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Margaret “Peg” LaJeunesse; their treasured children, Maggie (Reid) Bradford, Morgan (Rocco) Zinanni, and McKenzie Hammer; and his adoring grandchildren, Quinn Bradford, Emilia, and Isla Zinanni. He is also survived by his dear siblings, David Hammer, Annabelle (Matthew) Fejes, Pete Hammer, and Amy DePue; his brothers- and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. All of whom he loved dearly. A visitation will be held on Saturday May 9th from 10:00 am-11:00 am with a funeral mass at 11:00am at St. Gianna Parish located at 10233 S Central Park Ave, Evergreen Park IL 60805. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Les Turner ALS Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
