Michael Paul Maty, age 72, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Palos Heights, Illinois.Michael was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, to the late Don and Helen Maty. He was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, the late Carol Maty, and his son, Michael Steven Maty. Michael was a devoted husband, father, and family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie J. Maty, and his daughter, Melanie Lee Maty. He was a proud grandfather and cherished the time he spent with his grandsons, James Michael Dalzell and Cole Christopher Dalzell, and his son-in-law, Christopher Michael Dalzell. He is also survived by his siblings: Dave Maty (Gail), Steve Maty (Julie), Donna Maty Barron (George), along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.Michael is also survived by his beloved godchildren: Gretchen Pulliam, Aubrey Barron, and Eric Maty.Michael worked for many years as a cigar salesman, a career through which he built lasting relationships and friendships. Beyond his work, he was known as a devoted father and husband who deeply valued time with his family.He loved traveling with his wife Bobbie, especially vacationing in Palm Beach, Florida, where he enjoyed making memories with his daughter and grandsons. In his free time, Michael found great joy performing on stage. He was actively involved with the Beverly Theatre Guild and the Beverly Hills University Club, where his love of performance and community shone brightly.Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kosary Funeral Home, 9837 South Kedzie Avenue, Evergreen Park, Illinois 60805. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9701 South Brandt Avenue, Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Michael will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his passion for the stage, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
