Louis Carl Rogers, aged 85 years young, of Chicago, IL passed away suddenly and peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026, surrounded in love by his beloved wife Bernadine. Born on April 27, 1940, in Chicago, IL to loving parents Estelle Jundul and Stanley Rogers (Radzevich). Louis was the loving father of Michele Rogers-Scully (Thomas P. Scully); and Janet Mryan (Alaa Nizar Mryan). Louis was the very proud grandfather of Drake Scully and Omar Mryan. Louis was an avid Cubs fan, listening to games on the radio while sitting in his favorite green chair in the living room. A Bears fan and Chicago Bulls fan. He especially enjoyed watching horse racing. Be it the thoroughbreds at Ascot and Arlington or harness at Hawthorne racetrack, he was always up for the thrill of a good race. Louis worked as an Andy Frain usher and attended many historic events in Chicago. He truly loved the city of Chicago. He knew all the backstreets to getting around the city like the back of his hand. Louis was a career pressman with Commerce Clearing House, working the night shift. He was known for his strong work ethic, determination, reliability, and took great pride in providing for his family. Louis was a man of deep faith that loved God attending mass at Nativity B.V.M. Church weekly, singing in the choir, praying novenas for those who have passed on before, and providing water for parishioners. In addition to singing and playing several musical instruments, Louis composed and recorded music. Louis was an active member of the Knights of Lithuania Council 112 in Chicago, serving previously as Sergeant at Arms and Treasurer. Louis demonstrated his love through his tireless acts of service for others. He was extremely generous and would give you the shirt off his back without expecting anything in return. He was a very talented baker, happy to bake fudge, pineapple upside down cake, and kolachkys, as well as a 1st place prize winning Kugelis chef. Louis is deeply missed and forever loved. His family is heartbroken by the void that his absence has left. His legacy of forgiveness, faith, and family live on. In lieu of flowers, please offer masses in the repose of Louis’ beautiful soul....thank you very much. "
