Linda Christine Dixon, 77, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, in the comfort of her daughter Carey’s home in Munster, Indiana, surrounded by love.

Born on April 23, 1949, Linda lived a life defined by strength, courage, compassion, and a deep devotion to the people she loved. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a cherished aunt and dear friend to many. Those fortunate enough to know Linda will remember her for the love she gave so freely and the lasting impact she made on the lives around her.

Linda dedicated much of her life to serving the city of Chicago through a remarkable career with the Chicago Police Department. During her years of service, she worked as a patrol officer and went on to become a detective, including work with the Bomb and Arson Unit. Her career was a reflection of her bravery, determination, and commitment to protecting and serving others.

Outside of her career, Linda had an especially deep love for dogs and held a special place in her heart for them throughout her life.

Above all else, Linda treasured her family. She leaves behind her daughter,Carey Gadzala and her husband, Mike Gadzala; her son, Jeffrey Kurylo; her grandchildren,Marissa (Randy), Michelle (Jonathan), Justine, Taylor (Joe), Angelica(Michal), and Thomas(Jill); and her beloved great-grandchildren,Georgie, Colson, Korbyn, and Quinn.

Linda was preceded in death by Daniel Dixon, who held an important place in her life and in the family they shared. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those she loved who passed before her.

Linda also shared the last several years of her life with her cherished companion,Rich, who remained faithfully by her side and cared for her with tremendous love and devotion. His companionship brought Linda great comfort, and his presence in her life was deeply appreciated by her and her family.

Linda’s legacy lives on through the generations of family she loved so dearly, the countless lives she touched, and the memories that will continue to be shared by those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration and remembrance of Linda’s life onFriday, August 21, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kosary Funeral Home in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
