Jose Alfredo Gomez, 75, loving husband to Maria del Carmen (Molina) Gomez, 69. A loving father of Alfredo Jr. (Evelyn) Gomez, Veronica (Troy) Seaborg, Wendy (Paul) Pardo, Erik (Vanessa) Gomez, Christian (Elizabeth) Gomez. Exemplary Grandfather who was fondly known to the grandkids and great grandkids as "Wito". His grandchildren were blessed to have known and will miss his wisdom, kindness, and humble spirit. Grandfather to: Chubby, Lizzy, Liliana, Leah, Logan, Stephanie, Toñito, Emy, Anthony, Mya, and Erikito. Great-grandfather to: Evangeline Marie Gomez and Raven I. McAlpine.
Born in Mexico City, Jose Alfredo came from a big family of twelve, was known by the nickname “Concho” and embraced life with a vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to his family. In 1979, he courageously embarked on a new chapter, moving to Chicago in pursuit of a better future for his loved ones. He worked as a mechanic welder for thirty years before retiring and dedicating his life to his family. Throughout his life, Jose Alfredo found joy in playing racket ball, cars, taking care of animals, especially his birds as well as watching and playing soccer. His favorite soccer team was the Chivas de Guadalajara. But most of all he truly loved spending time doing all these things with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. His wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support served as a beacon of strength for his family, inspiring them to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience.
Jose Alfredo's memory will be cherished by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives he touched. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he enriched with his love and generosity.
A celebration of Jose Alfredo's life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 2-8pm at Kosary Funeral Home 9837 S Kedzie, Evergreen Park, IL 60805. A Celebration of Mass will be at 11am on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. Rita of Cascia Parish 6243 S Fairfield Ave. in Chicago, IL 60629. Burial will follow at St. Casimir cemetery.
