John Smith

John W. “JW” Smith age 61; beloved husband of Margie (nee Gillespie) Smith; loving father of John, Nicole and Crystal Smith; fond step brother of Howard (Sherry) Smith; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  John worked for Cook County as a Corrections Officer for 34 years, was a union representative for the Teamsters, a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus and a former Boy Scout Leader for Troop #610 in Evergreen Park.   John enjoyed fishing, the Cubs and golf.  He’ll be missed by his dogs Ginger and Hooch. Funeral Monday August 24, 2020; Visitation 10:00 am; Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at St. Bernadette Church 9343 South Francisco Avenue, Evergreen Park, IL 60805.
