Betty "Elizabeth" J. Pietkiewicz, age 90, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, of Evergreen Park, passed into the arms of Jesus on June 27, 2025. Betty was born on October 26, 1934, in Lafferty, Ohio and grew up in Farmington, WV. After graduating from St. Mary Hospital Nursing School, Betty met the love of her life Gene in West Virginia, who was visiting from Chicago. Betty was married to the late Eugene Pietkiewicz Sr. for 42 years. In 1972, they moved from the southside of Chicago to Evergreen Park where they continued to raise their four children. Betty worked as an RN at Holy Cross Hospital for over 25 years in the nursery, then later worked caring for disabled children until she was 78. She touched the hearts of so many through her sweet, caring and selfless nature. Betty enjoyed spending time with family, exploring the Chicago lakefront, visiting museums, walking nature trails, and Polish cooking. Betty loved traveling to Vermont and California to enjoy time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed music, singing, and dancing to polka music. Betty loved the Lord and attended St. Bernadette Parish. Preceded in death by her mother Anna Michonic, father Andrew Antolock, brothers Jim Antolock, Andy Antolock, stepfather Joe Michnowicz, stepbrother Walter Michnowicz, and nephew Drew Antolock. Betty is survived by her loving children Eugene Jr. (Diane), Anne (Fred) Day, Mary, Janis (Alan) Kunz, grandchildren Christopher (Kirsten) Day, Rebecca (Alex) Figueroa, Giana, Alexander, Nathan, great grandchildren Liliana , Luca, Miles, one more on the way and many nieces and nephews. Betty was loved dearly and her laughter, sweet smile and kindness will always be in our hearts.
